Today is the day! The premiere of When Jericho Falls is releasing just now in all digital platforms. Very excited with this ’cause I must say is one of my most significant songs.
Well, you know I have a penchant for deep, raw and epic songs with a remarkable social load, don’t I? And this one is all in one.
That’s a song against violence. The story of a young one who runs away trying to escape from a raid. Not guilty, but when you’re running away into the dark in a marginal town there’s not time for explanations. There’s no chances. Sentence was done. Nobody’s guilty. Only a society with no values, poorly raised.
A whole world living in a big mistake.
As we were creating and building the song, more and more it was getting its own personality to grow up as a kind of modern Rock Requiem. It starts as an Americana sound ballad ant it goes in crescendo to a progressive hard rock song. Guys, you should to listen the atonishing solo guitar that my friend and mate in The MRKT Band; Xavi Perez has done. Glorious shit! I’m still in shock.
Also, that’s the first time I use A.I. professionally to create my video clip. For a long time, in the past, I was working doing the usual clips only. Just me singing at camera and some shoots of video more or less related with the meaning of the song.
To create a real film which talks in every frame about the things I write it would have been a titanic and so much expensive work. Not even with the support of an international label -which I haven’t- it would be easy. My lyrics are wrote conscientiously I must say.
But everything has changed with this A.I. thing. Me, who I’m reserved about this artificial technology and I’m a proud defender of organic work, I found in A.I. an important ally to create for first time, the kind of videos I’ve always wanted create…
Life is a paradox. Even if I don’t like it.
I’m still learning with promts and all. But I consider I’ve done a decent job with this clip anyway. Other of my old songs where good with usual old style clips. And I hope this organic old way it will be the standard rule in my future works. But this one was special and I needed a clip directly related with the words.
Not sure if I will carry on in this way, sincerily. I feel a lack of authenticity in all this A.I. thing. But there’s a remarkable story behind this song, and it was needed a clip up to par. For this time only, at least.
