Everything happens in its own time. And this week, my new single “Ain’t Nobody” was finally released.
It is a Southern-style road song, rooted in a specific way of life and my passion for authentic American rock.
It is also a song about freedom. Inspired by an era when rebellion and the fight for personal independence were a social creed.
Unlike these cookie-cutter times we live nowadays; where everything is overly organized, politically correct, and no one dares to raise their voice too loud, those were days when standing up for your own identity was a sign of a healthy society. And in my quest to bring a human touch back to music, restoring rock to its rightful place on the streets, I think this song is truly fitting and timely.
This is, above all, a human song for human ears.
You already know I don’t consider myself a sworn enemy of AI. There are fascinating things this tool allows us to do; such as achieving visual creations that would be impossible for an independent artist to produce due to a lack of resources, the inability to hire a massive crew, or the inability to travel to those dream locations where incredible videos could be shot, just like rock stars did in the 80s.
But I dislike it when it takes over the work that humans we can do: creativity and the act of artistic emotional creation itself.
In music, nowadays, you don’t need to step into a million-dollar studio to achieve a perfect recording. You can do it even at home if you want. You don’t need an AI to create music for a lack of resources. And if you have a lack of talent, maybe you don’t need to perfom music.Try macrame craft.
When it comes to creating sound, the human factor is more personal than in visual creation for a musician; where the artist’s role is often secondary.
That is why -and because my personal experience with AI generated music has been unpleasant given its tendency to be boring, over-cluttered, and repetitive- I’m open to certain visual applications of this tool. But not to compromising what truly matters: the pure essence of music and that return to the human touch I defend above all else
I believe our only hope as a society is to reclaim all or part of the humanity that modern times have stole away from us
And so, I keep driving along this endless road in search of my audience of misfits. Believers. People who are resistance. Who prefer to step outside the cold, robotic system and return to a way of life that is warmer, more human, and in touch with the true essence of what defines us as a civilization.
That essence which no artificiality can imitate, steal, or replace: our human soul; the greatest mystery of all
Anyway… you already can listen my new song in all digital platforms worldwide. Orden in Apple, Amazon or Bandcamp and enjoy it with the rest of my older works there.
In a couple of weeks, I’ll release a half AI videoclip. Half human (the things I can do) and half AI visuals (things I can not) trying to sail this complicated sea between the human touch and the artificial one.
Meanwhile, I hope we all here remain “resistance”!
Be rock! Be resistance! Be a believer!

Ian
